Source, essential theme of Texworld Paris' trends and inspiration for spring-summer 2020.

Jan 23, 2019

The artistic directors of Texworld Paris deliver with Source the main lines of what will be the fashion of spring-summer 2020.

The Source Trendbook relevant to all Fairyland for Fashion tradefairs is available for free on the "Trends & Events" tab.

As a (re)starting point, the source nourished by the confluences of the past becomes a river of inspiration for tomorrow, which delta is divided into 3 major branches:

Precursory Remnant: the old world is a chance, a blank page to start over. There will be no need to tap into our resources, all we need to do is feed from the source. You have to learn to see beauty elsewhere. In the details in these remains that we took to be waste. Perhaps we will have to redefine the beautiful and the useful. The shreds of the past are threads just waiting to be woven.

Reincarnated Relics: We created monsters that destroyed us. We will make them comply with the new rules. Divert them from their harmful destinies. We will have to reinvent plastic, oil, nuclear, garbage and rubbish of all sorts. It will take time and absolute tolerance in this field of global experimentation. Ridicule does not kill. And what does not kill us makes us stronger. It is up to the alchemists to take over to find the right combination, the right use of each element striving to, one day, turn the waste into gold.

Flickering Oasis: The alchemists have done their work. Beauty, calm, peace. Thinkers and artists create the formula. Everything is nice to watch. Nothing complicated. The raw material is still there, the ruins and remains still visible. Nothing should be hidden away. Never again. Simply, a curve, a line, a color are shaped. So that the useless that has become useful can also become beautiful. The first waves. Like a nascent stream of water. The mark of our efforts. The ripples that take on our new wishes and transform the world in our eyes. To transform the vision of the world in the eyes of all and to imagine tomorrow: the roles of thinkers and artists.
